Mahindra and Mahindra Group, Automobile Company launched electric cars in 2016. These new electric CitySmart cars are called ‘e2o Plus’. These cars would help Mahindra to entry into the mass-market electric sector. The range of these electric cars is up to 140 km in the top end variant on one single charge. The price is at Rs.5.46 lacs at Delhi ex-showroom.
These cars are an electric car so they do not use any hydrocarbon fuel such as petrol or diesel. Hence, these cars do have any emission and are referred to as zero emission cars. They are the best cars that would be used in the metropolitan cities. Urban dwellers would soon be introduced and encouraged to use these cars. These electric cars would be accepted as mainstream cars.
The cars have a tall-boy design with enough spacious interiors for four adults to be comfortably seated. Also, there are several innovative advanced technologies incorporated in this model. Integrated technologies are provided for easy urban commuting. Other innovative features provided are remote diagnostics through telemetric. Also, there is provision for connectivity through a smartphone app. There are also new and advanced infotainment system, regenerative braking. Features like Hill Hold control for easy driving in hilly terrains. Revive for reserve charge and automated messages amongst others.
A feature of the car includes hassle free drive, regenerative braking, a battery of e2oPlus every time its brakes are applied, helping the car literally recover the energy it dispenses. On rare occasion, if the car runs low on energy, it can be activated to gain an extra 5-10 km of range. This would help the owner or user to reach home or to the nearest charging station. The electric car requires charging. Most common place to charge it is at home using the charging facility. Charging the CitySmart, e2oPlus, is very easy like charging a mobile phone. Customers can select between 4 trim levels (P2, P4, P6, or P8) and 4 exciting colours namely Coral Blue, Sparkling, Wine, Arctic Silver, or Solid White. The car can be easily charged through any normal 16 Amp plug point, making it highly convenient and easy.
